Mum opens boutique in town centre shop she worked in 25 years ago

Tammy Barry-Murphy, 42, opened Pinky Peach Boutique on Hatters Row last Monday.

It has always been a dream for the mum-of-one to open her own clothing shop and she describes Pinky Peach Boutique as ‘just the beginning’.

Tammy, who has a fashion, clothing and design qualification, wants to provide individual and stylish outfits for women in Warrington, at affordable prices.

The boutique stocks clothes and accessories for women aged 18 to 25 and 25+ with prices starting at £15.

The mum-of-one said: “My family have been amazingly supportive with the business and I’m really excited to bring fresh and iconic pieces to Warrington.”

Pinky Peach Boutique, located on Horsemarket Street in the town centre, offers a wide range of stock from casual clothes to occasion dresses and bespoke pieces.

While studying for her fashion qualification, Tammy was chosen from her year to produce a dress in a live workshop which featured in Debbie Wingham’s fashion show in London.

Wingham is famous in the fashion industry for creating the world’s most expensive dress valued at £11.7million.

Tammy also modelled in the Warrington Clothes Show and worked in Jimmy Choo, spending most of her adult life immersed in the fashion industry.

She said: “I wanted to provide affordable but classy pieces for women in Warrington that draw on celebrity style.

“I’ll be getting new stock in every week to make sure the shop is up-to-date with the latest trends.”

At age 17, Tammy worked in the unit when it was Gerrard’s clothing shop and finds it fitting that it is the place she has returned to for her new fashion venture.

The former model also made it to the final 100 of a FHM modelling competition out of 15,000 entries.

Looking ahead to the future, Tammy hopes to expand the business online and open more boutique shops.
