NINE babies welcomed into the world at Warrington Hospital on Monday will share their birthdays with the newborn son of the Duke and Duchess and Cambridge.

Will and Kate welcomed their third child into the world at St Mary’s Hospital in London at 11.01am on Monday, with their son – who will be fifth in line to the throne – weighing 8lb 7oz.

On the same day, five boys and four girls were born on Warrington Hospital’s maternity unit.

And the Warrington Guardian has been to meet four of the town’s newest arrivals.

Amy Baker's second-born child Alister Sherratt arrived exactly 20 minutes before the royal baby at 10.41am, weighing 9lb 5oz.

The Orford resident said: "My mother-in-law texted my partner about the royal baby, but we were obviously caught up in the excitement of having this one so we weren't really aware what was going on."

Howley couple Charlotte and Joe Dickenson celebrated the arrival of their first-born Georgie, weighing 8lb at 6.23am, almost a year to the day of their first wedding anniversary.

Charlotte said: "It was special to have a birth on the same day as the royal baby but we didn't know about it at the time.

"I've been in here three days, but it has been worth the wait."

Timotei Tauska was born to Marta Miziolek and Filip Tauska, from Howley, at 11.45am weighing 8lb 2oz.

Marta said: "I heard that Kate was in hospital and it was really exciting."

Filip added: "I was told about the princess giving birth when we got here, and it's definitely special."

Hannah Moorcroft was born later on in the day at 9.52pm, weighing 8lb 14oz.

Mum Gina, from Newton-le-Willows, said: "I heard the news in the morning and I was four days overdue - I thought I wouldn't mind it being today and then the pain started, it was really weird.

"I was shocked that I had her that night, because it was really quick."

In July 2003, the same number of babies were born at Warrington Hospital on the day Prince George was born.

Mum Becki Ohalloran, came closest to matching the same time as the royal baby after giving birth to Nathan Wesley, weighing 7lb 5oz, at 8.07pm.

It was an unexpected surprise as Becki was not due to give birth until days later.
