A LORRY driver has died following a motorway crash last night.

Emergency services were called to a serious accident at Croft interchange shortly after 8pm yesterday, Monday.

Crews found that a lorry had overturned on the slip road linking the M62 eastbound to the M6 northbound, with no other vehicle involved.

Cheshire Police have now confirmed that the lorry driver, a 52-year-old man from Shaw, died at the scene.

The man’s next of kin have been informed.

Four fire engines and a major rescue unit were dispatched to the scene by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, who cut the man from the vehicle.

Fire crews were on the scene for around three hours, with the North West Ambulance Service also dispatching a number of units to the scene.
