A CHILDREN'S book character has inspired a Whitley nursery to create a secret post card project.
As the youngsters are due to learn about summer around the world, staff from the Stables Nursery School, on Grimsditch Lane, are asking for help for family, friends and the wider public.
By using the character from the children's favourite book, What the Ladybird Heard by Julia Donaldson, people are being encouraged to send a postcard to the nursery using the words: "I am the ladybird and I heard..." followed by news related to their home town or country.
Staff will then pin the postcards to a world map to show where the ladybird has 'travelled'.
The project will be kept a secret from the children, who will use the postcards to learn about destinations around the UK and world.
People are being asked to send their postcards to The Stables Nursery School, Grimsditch Lane, Lower Whitley, Warrington WA4 4ED.
