RESIDENTS in Stockton Heath are invited to enjoy live music, real ale and a hog roast at St Thomas' Charity Barn Dance this weekend.

The fundraising event, organised by the Parents, Friends and Teachers Association (PFTA), will see the school yard and hall, on Parkgate Road, transformed into a party venue on Saturday.

As well as a fully stocked licensed bar serving real ale, lager, wine and Prosecco, guests can expect a rodeo bull, a fundraising raffle and live music from Cheshire based Flaxmere Ceilidh Band.

Tickets will also include a hog roast supper from Cheshire Hog Roasts.

For the past 12 months the PFTA have worked with the school, parents and the school council to plan projects which will improve the children's education.

Plans include developing a nature area, creating a multi-use games area and purchasing musical instruments, playground games, new books and bean bags for the library as well as picnic tables.

Mr Moss, head teacher at St Thomas' Primary School, said: "As our school celebrate 180 years this year, I can think of no better fun and inclusive event to showcase our vibrant community and raise funds to provide valuable additional recreational and educational enhancements that school budgets don't permit - we hope people will be generous in their support."

Tickets are £15 and can be purchased online at ticketsource.co.uk or from the school office.
