TIME Square car park will not be the recipient of BBC North West Tonight's 'People's Choice Building of the Decade Award'.

The multi-storey car park, which opened in late 2017, was shortlisted for the accolade, alongside the Mersey Gateway Bridge.

The site is a key part of the council's multi-million pound town centre regeneration project and was one of 25 competitors in the running for the award, which sees viewers vote for their favourite modern building constructed in the past 10 years.

Representatives in the town have been told the car park has not been selected as one of the regional winners.

However, they have been informed that there has been much 'interest' in the site.

A final vote on the five regional winners will open this Friday and close next Thursday.

The overall winner is set to be announced at the North West Property Awards, organised by Insider Media, on May 17.
