A PENKETH antiques shop is set to feature on the upcoming series of Antiques Road Trip.

BBC crews and presenter Arusha 'Roo' Irvine visited the vintage collectables shop Hunt & Gather, on Station Road last Thursday, April 12 to film for the programme.

Owner, Sven Hill, is excited to see his shop feature on television.

He said: "The producers rang me and said they liked the look of my stock and the location it and asked if they could come and film at Hunt & Gather for the show."

The 30-year-old, from Penketh, opened the shop two years ago after searching for unusual furnishings for his house.

Sven said: "My wife and I were decorating our new house and antiques became my love and passion from searching for unique furnishings.

"It has just gone from there really and we decided to open our own business."

Antiques Road Trip features on BBC Two and sees experts set off on a road trip around the UK searching for treasures and competing to make the most money at auction.

"They were all lovely and put me at ease during filming.

"They spent two hours in my little shop and it made me realise how genuine the show is – they looked at every single item I had," Sven added.

The online business keeps Sven busy during the week and the shop is open Saturdays and Sundays.
