FORGET beer – a gin festival is coming to Warrington for the first time complete with masterclasses for the true connoisseurs.

The Gin Society is going on tour and is hosting three sessions at Parr Hall between Friday and Saturday, August 3 and 4.

There will be 120 gins, prosecco cocktails, masterclasses, a tasting station, plus live entertainment and a chance to talk to many of the distillers.

The sessions are from 6pm to 10.30pm on August 3 and from 12pm to 4.30pm and 6pm to 10.30pm on August 4.

Upon arrival you will be given a gin glass and a guide to the 120 tipples plus tasting notes. 

Early bird tickets are £8.50 plus booking fee. 

Drinks are paid for on the day using a voucher system. There will also be food and Fentimans tonics.

Warrington has recently been caught up in a gin craze. 

G&J distillery in Birchwood recently unveiled plans for a craft gin bar in Manchester, Prohibition themed bar The Volstead has recently opened and specialises in gin and a show dedicated to the history of gin called Mother's Ruin comes to Pyramid on Friday, April 27.
