CHILDREN across Warrington found out whether they gained a place at their chosen primary school today, Monday.
2,417 children applied for places at primary schools across town with nearly 95 per cent gaining their first-choice school.
2,540 applied for places last year, meaning around 100 fewer children competed for primary school allocation.
A total of 2,292 children were given their first-choice primary school place for September 2018.
89 children got their second-choice place for this September, compared to 122 last year.
17 children were given their third-choice place for this September while 19 children were not allocated any place.
Last year, 54 children were not given a place at primary school.
