A TEAM of rowers have pulled together to complete a 26.2 mile challenge for Cancer Research UK.
Members from the Ladies Senior Squad at Warrington Rowing Club have been taking part in the Great Row, the nation's biggest indoor rowing challenge, where individuals and teams get together to raise funds.
They chose to do the 26 miles either by boat on the river, on the indoor rowing machine or by doing a mix of both.
Vicky Tickle, senior ladies squad member, said: "When I first suggested the Cancer Research challenge to my squad, I didn't think many would take me up on it to be honest.
"But I’ve been amazed at how the ladies have genuinely pulled together.
"There has been an incredible camaraderie between us. We’ve loved every minute – everyone has supported each other and the whole experience has brought us closer together as a squad."
Together the team has faced unexpected weather conditions, equipment failure, and exhaustion, but having completed the challenge on Saturday and £3,000 has been raised so far.
Vicky said: "We've been blown away by the generosity of our family, friends and fellow club members.
"We expected to raise a few hundred pounds and would have been delighted with that."
