WORK is continuing on changing the look of a town centre street.
Parking is being removed from Springfield Street as part of a programme of £664,000 work on Palmyra Square North and South along the side of Queen’s Gardens.
Long term bosses want to link the area to Bridge Street via the revamped Cabinet Works site.
The proposals include an increase in on-street parking in the area and lengthening of the duration of stay.
A key aim of the plan is to conserve the street pattern, while delivering a ‘pedestrian-friendly’ area.
