A TEENAGER is putting the finishing touches to her plans for a craft fair in Great Sankey this weekend.

Joanna Smalley is busy putting the event on at St James' Church on Saturday.

The 17-year-old, who has been part of the Girlguiding movement since she was six, has been chosen to represent North West Girlguiding on an expedition to Romania in the summer.

The trip will last for 10 days while Joanna and friends help at a community micro farm and teach English at a children’s home.

Joanna must raise £1,500 towards her trip and has already been selling her own range of Christmas, birthday and congratulations cards.

The fair will feature a range of craft stalls from cushions to jewellery, baby gifts and candles, including stalls from her crafty mum and aunt.

Joanna and her friends from 37th Warrington Senior Section are arranging crafts for children to make and take away for a small donation and a range of snacks and refreshments will also be available.

The event will take place from 10am until 2pm.
