TWO masked men armed with a sledgehammer broke into a home in Lymm leaving a woman screaming for help.

The culprits targeted the home on Whitesands Road at 7.40pm on February 26 where they confronted the woman and demanded money.

The victim screamed for help which caused the offenders to flee from the scene just moments later.

The offenders were both wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

One of the men was considerably shorter than the other at around 5ft 5ins.

Both offenders are believed to have fled from the scene in a dark-coloured hatchback vehicle, which was waiting nearby at the junction with Star Lane.

The vehicle was last seen on Star Lane travelling in the direction of A56 Booths Hill Road.
