ONE hundred residents have voiced opposition to proposals to build 64 homes in Lymm.
Bellway Homes' plans to demolish all existing structures and carry out a remediation of Tanyard Farm, off Rushgreen Road – prior to building 64 properties – will come before the development management committee tomorrow, Wednesday.
However, Lymm Parish Council, Cllr Ian Marks (LD – Lymm North and Thelwall) and 100 residents have objected.
Residents said the proposals would lead to 'harmful and inappropriate development in the green belt'.
Cllr Marks also believes they would cause additional traffic without any infrastructure improvements.
If approved, the development would include car parking spaces and an ecological enhancement area.
The committee is recommended to approve the application subject to a section 106 agreement, which would secure £177,881 towards the provision of secondary school places, £49,344 towards health facilities and £15,232 towards sports facilities.
A connection to the Bridgewater Canal towpath was proposed previously but this has been removed following comments from the Bridgewater Canal Company.
