NETWORK Warrington has announced it will operate an extended service to Knutsford, as part of its improvements to the bus network.

In partnership with Warrington Borough Council and Cheshire East Council, the current number 47 bus service will, from Monday April 9, service Broomedge and High Legh throughout the week, Monday to Friday.

It will also extend its operation from High Legh through to Knutsford to provide another link from Cheshire to Warrington.

Ben Wakerley, managing director of Network Warrington, said: "I'm pleased to announce that, with assistance from local authority colleagues, we are able to improve and extend the operation of another valuable bus service for our residents.

"The extension of the 47 bus route came from customer feedback at our Cheshire Cat roadshow in February and we’re delighted that on this occasion we could put feedback into action.

"We try and operate the most extensive bus network possible and in some areas do operate less economic services to ensure our communities stay connected as much as possible.

"This is why support from local authorities is essential – without it, there would be many residents who wouldn’t have access to any forms of transport."
