A MAN has been charged with impersonating a police officer in Warrington.
David Nolan, 44, from Seaforth, will appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on March 27 to answer to the charge.
The suspect was detained in Seaforth on Thursday by police shortly after the force launched an investigation into the allegation.
It is alleged the man had been stopping motor vehicles using a motorcycle fitted with blue lights as well as advising a motorist regarding their driving.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "The quick thinking of a member of the public allowed us to make enquiries to identify a suspect and make this arrest."
