A COMMUNITY centre has officially reopened following a £340,000 refurbishment.
Fearnhead Cross Centre, on Insall Road, was shut last year while a major revamp was carried out.
And the community centre was officially reopened by the Mayor of Warrington Cllr Les Morgan on Wednesday, February 21.
Cllr Tony Higgins, Warrington Borough Council's executive board member for leisure and community, said: "This refurbishment project has been a great success and will enhance the offer available to residents in Fearnhead and the surrounding area.
"It will help to revitalise the activities being delivered in the centre, and we're hoping to attract a wide variety of new groups to the centre to proactively support the health and wellbeing of residents."
A remodelling and full internal refurbishment of the community centre included the creation of a second kitchen, the replacement of all external roll shutters and changes to the office’s layout.
Activities including networking sessions and community events are held in the centre, which is also equipped with IT facilities for its users.
The centre is also set for further £90,000 repair works to its roof.
