A RACEHORSE has won on his first two run-outs since being bought by a Stockton Heath syndicate.

Corbsinger Thoroughbreds purchased Outer Space last month.

And the seven-year-old has been victorious in his first two races since the transfer.

Friends Liam Corbett and Rosie Grensinger, from Stockton Heath, formed the racing syndicate last year.

Rosie said: “We’ve not had him for too long - we bought him in January, just after New Year.

“Our trainer John Flint sourced him for us - we got him and John said he would win next time out, and luckily enough he did at 11/2.

“John said he thought he would win again in his next race, and he did.

“It was a fabulous moment - we were all jumping up and down and cheering him on.

“He’s not the youngest of horses - flat horses normally race from the age of two onwards, so he’s been there and done it and probably gone down the grades a bit.

“But he seems to have found a new lease of life after moving yards and coming to our trainer.”

Outer Space followed up an against-the-odds race win at Wolverhampton on Monday, January 15, with victory at Lingfield in Surrey on Friday, February 2.

The in-form racehorse is now hoping to complete an unexpected hat-trick when he returns to Lingfield tomorrow, Friday.

Rosie, 30, added: “He seems to be a very happy horse again and he’s doing really well.

“You find it quite often with horses that a change of scenery freshens them up.

“John is a great trainer - he’s based down in south Wales and he takes them out onto the beach to train.

“It’s a small yard as well, so they’re a lot more hands-on than some of the bigger trainers.

“We’re next out at Lingfield again, where he won last time, and we’re going for the hat-trick now.

Outer Space is Corbsinger Thoroughbreds’ second horse after the Wire Flyer, who is named in honour of Warrington Wolves.

The syndicate’s jockeys also race in the club’s iconic primrose and blue colours.

Rosie said: “We’ve leased another horse who is only a baby at the moment and won’t be out for a good while yet.

“But Outer space is going to be running on Saturdays throughout the summer, and we’re looking to have some good days out with him locally at Haydock.

“He will have a little bit of a break after this race and hopefully come back in and run at Haydock at the end of April in the primrose and blue.”
