WARRINGTON Borough Council has urged a landowner to employ bailiffs 'as soon as possible' to remove travellers from Marks and Spencer at Gemini Retail Park.

Two caravans and associated vehicles set up camp on the private site, on Europa Boulevard, earlier this week.

The authority has been 'engaging' with the landowner and has 'urged them to employ bailiffs as soon as possible'.

A limousine and red carpet has been spotted in a ‘wedding’ at the Marks and Spencer encampment.

Warrington Guardian:

Five caravans and associated vehicles have also arrived on council-owned land on Hardwick Grange in Woolston.

Fourteen caravans vacated Woolston Neighbourhood Hub yesterday, Thursday, but then set up camp on a Silver Lane in Risley.

The police served a section 61 notice ordering the group to leave.

Officers have been made 'aware' of damage to the gate on the site and a crime report has been submitted but no arrests have been made in relation to this.
