IT may have started out as a joke in an American sitcom but now more and more women are marking Galentine's Day celebrating their female friendships.
Sitcom Parks and Recreation created the day in 2010.
But rather than it being a day to mark instead of Valentine's Day, Galentine's Day takes place on February 13 so that women with significant others can still have the opportunity to spend Valentine's Day with their romantic partners.
Since then restaurants and stores have embraced Galentine's Day encouraging 'ladies to celebrate ladies'.
And to mark it, we thought it would be nice to hear from residents about their best friends.
Send us a picture of the mate you couldn't live without and tell us why they are your best friend for a special gallery celebrating Warrington friendships on our site on Tuesday.
