PUPILS at Great Sankey Primary School have loved getting involved with all things science.

As part of their ‘Eureka’ topic, children have been looking at the subjects of science, technology, computing and maths in more detail and have completed exciting projects and investigations.

The younger children in school enjoyed learning about science in the world around them and in water.

They even made their own boats to test out in the water.

As part of the technology projects, children have made their very own fairground rides and younger children have also created pneumatic models of monsters that move.

Penketh High School delivered computing workshops to classes across the school and the children showed off their work to parents, carers and the community in a science and technology fair in school.

Tom Gawne, science co-ordinator at Great Sankey Primary School based on Liverpool Road, said: “It has been a fantastic experience for children to immerse themselves in these important subjects in a cross curricular way, as well as become involved with projects that develop such great skills.

“Children have worked collaboratively, showed resilience, and learnt so much about the subjects that play such an important role in the world we live.

“It was fantastic to have all children in the school from nursery right through to year six enjoy themselves.”
