A POPULAR tea room is set to close at the end of the month.

Dingle Farm Tea Room in Appleton will permanently shut its doors on Monday, January 29.

First opened six years ago, the Dingle Lane tea room was ranked in the top 20 places in the country to enjoy afternoon tea by the Sunday Times in 2015.

But the building is now set to be converted back into housing.

A statement posted on Dingle Farm Tea Room’s Facebook page said: “It is with a heavy heart we announce that from January 29 the tea room will no longer be open to the public.

“The farm house will be converted back into a dwelling like it originally was.

”We would like to take the opportunity to thank all our customers for all your support over the last six years, and in making our tea room so special – you have been wonderful.

“We are very sad to see it go, but we are thankful to have had a fantastic time and achieved a great deal over the years – we couldn't have hoped for more.

“This will not affect bookings up to this date.”
