A SPORTING legend is heading to town to give fans his own take and insight into his rise to fame.

Former dual-code international rugby league and rugby union player Jason Robinson will be taking centre stage at Pyramid arts centre in a special talk on Friday, April 20.

Playing at wing or fullback, Jason ‘Billy Whizz’ Robinson won 51 rugby union international caps for England, as well bagging success on the rugby league pitch, winning 12 caps for Great Britain and seven for England, in addition to representing the Lions.

The rugby star managed to win every honour in Rugby League before going on to do the same in Rugby Union, including the World Cup in Australia.

Jason will regale audiences with stories about his career as well as his life growing up which had its struggles.

The 43-year-old was raised by his single mum who worked as a cleaner.

Jason will also talk about overcoming depression and his battles with alcohol to become one of the greatest rugby players of all time.

Hosted by the former professional rugby player turned comedian and sports presenter John Lebbon, the inspirational talk will also include a memorabilia auction.

Fans can even chat one-on-one with the icon as part of a special VIP package, offering a meet and greet before the event, a photo opportunity and signed souvenir.
