PEOPLE visiting Warrington may have had to look twice this week.
Because the iconic water tower from the Garnett Cabinet Works is starting to look a little different.
Work has begun on removing the tower and is now part way down today, Wednesday.
Warrington Excavation and Contracting Ltd has begun work after the building was deemed 'unsafe'.
And Warrington Guardian photographer Dave Gillespie was given an exclusive look at the tower before it was removed from the landscape forever.
Built on Barbauld Street in the town centre in 1906, Garnett’s Cabinet Works has now been vacant for more than 60 years.
