FACEBOOK is changing so here's what you need to know.

The social media giant decides which posts you see based on a complicated algorithm which includes a vast number of factors.

But CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced last week changes were being made to prioritise content that your friends engage with rather than posts from businesses, brands and media.

To ensure you don't miss out on anything, here's how you can prioritise your favouite friends and pages so that they always appear at the top of your newsfeed:

The easiest way to do it is to visit the Facebook page, click on 'Following' near the top and then select 'See first'.

Warrington Guardian:

Alternatively if you want to select a number of pages in one go and you're using your mobile phone click on the three horizontal lines that look like this...

(It's usually in the top right or bottom right corner.)

Warrington Guardian:

Or if you're on a desktop, click on the down arrow in the top right of your screen.

And then click on News Feed Preferences.

If you're on a mobile you need to click Settings and then News Feed Preferences.

Then you'll get this window...

Warrington Guardian:

Click on 'Prioritise who to see first'.

Click on the friends or pages you want to see at the top of your newsfeed and a blue star will appear in each corner.

The person won't know you have selected them and you can select up to 30.

Your selections aren't ranked ie. your first selection isn't seen first, your second selection isn't seen second etc.

And while you're there you'll be one of our favourites if you select the Warrington Guardian to appear at the top of your newsfeed too.
