A 46-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for 18 years after being convicted of historic child sex offences committed in Warrington.
James King, of Jubilee Green, Ellesmere Port, was convicted by a jury on December 11 following a trial and sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court last Wednesday.
He was sentenced for two counts of assaulting a child under 13, two counts of raping a child under 13, rape of a teenage girl, six counts of rape, sexual assault on a female by penetration and sexual assault on a female with no penetration.
The defendant received an extended sentence of 24 years, comprising a custodial term of 18 years and an extension period of six years.
DC Ian Morris said: "No matter the time period of these offences we are committed in bringing these offenders to justice.
"I hope this sentence and the bravery shown by the victims gives others who may be suffering in silence the courage to come forward and speak to us."
