AN initiative to brighten up Burtonwood has been awarded a cash boost by the National Lottery.
The volunteers behind Burtonwood in Bloom will be presented with £4,500 to improve several sites in the village.
Clair Lee, who set up the campaign, has issued a heartfelt thank you to council leader Terry O’Neill for his help with the application for funding.
More than £8,000 has been raised so far to tidy-up the area and buy seeds, plants and other items to create floral displays.
