FED up parish councillors in Great Sankey have come up with a novel way of shaming dog owners who don't pick up their animal's poo.
Great Sankey Parish Council says dog mess will be covered in bright pink florescent paint in a bid to show how big the problem is at the Tim Parry Recreation Ground.
A spokesman said: "We hope it will encourage owners to clean up after their dog if they foul on the Recreation Ground.
"The idea is that when people see how much dog mess there is around, they’ll start cleaning up after their pet."
The playing ground is a popular area for children and football teams and one youngster was so annoyed by the problem that they designed a poster for the parish council to display.
Meanwhile the parish council says that in the new year it will install CCTV to the outside of the community centre and both car park areas. This will also be used to help tackle the poo problem.
