MYSTERY surrounds how a traffic light in the town centre was knocked down.
Tape has been placed around the traffic light, on Wharf Street, close to Riverside Retail Park.
The council confirmed it will be carrying out repairs today, Wednesday, but it is not aware of how the damage took place, while Cheshire Police said it has no reports of an incident.
It is believed it was knocked down by a motorist in the early hours of Tuesday.
