A SEARCH has been launched to find the next set of Home-Start Warrington volunteers who can help change lives of people in the community.

Each year the charity supports more than 120 families and 250 children.

To help these families the team at Hone-Start Warrington trains volunteers who are then linked with a family with a child under the age of five.

The volunteer provides support for three hours a week in the family home.

All volunteers must complete a 40 hour training programme before they are linked with a family.

This training takes place over a 10 week period at the SMILE centre on Sandy Lane, Orford, on a Wednesday from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

The next course is due to start on January 10.

Kate Griffiths, scheme manager, said: "The volunteers are at the core of what we do – without them there isn’t a Home-Start.

"As one of our volunteers recently said 'it is one of the most rewarding things you can do knowing you have helped a family through a difficult time'.”
