YOUNGSTERS unleashed their silly side when they were encouraged to wear colourful socks with their school uniforms.
Pupils at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School took part in a silly sock day to help collect donations for the Christmas fair.
In return for wearing silly socks, the children were asked to bring in chocolates for the tombola.
Pupils also took part in an own clothes day and Christmas accessories day at the school on Walton Avenue in Penketh.
Generous pupils donated sweet jars and bottles for the tombola.
More than £3,000 was raised at the Christmas fair on December 1.
