STONE baked pizzas are now being freshly made every day at Warrington Market thanks to the latest trader to join the food court.

Konrad Sedziak has opened Cheshire Roasts Pizza where you can buy a slice or order a whole 12ins or 14ins pizza which is made in front of you.

The 41-year-old is returning to his roots as he used to run a pizza shop in his native Poland.

He has made Warrington his home over the past 10 years and has worked with the likes of Aiden Byrne and at numerous pubs and restaurants including Fir Grove Hotel and The Rams Head in Grappenhall and Red Lion in Moore.

Konrad said: "Gino D'Acampo is the big Italian chef and he’s opened a pizza shop in Next in the Arndale Centre in Manchester which has been very popular. So why not try this in Warrington?

"From Punjabi street food to gourmet burgers, everyone has a good quality product here and wants to show the town something a little bit different.

"The old market building was 43 years old. Now it’s a new market with some new blood. Everything has been refreshed. I think the change has shown people what is good and has given them the chance to say what they want here."

There will always be three thin crust pizzas that can be bought by the slice including margharita, meat feast and vegetarian. They are made fresh on site throughout the day and the toppings always vary slightly.

Whole pizzas can be bought in nine varieties or you can choose your own toppings.

As well as pizza there are pasta dishes, Polish dumplings and chimichurri potato which is a Brazilian dish with olive oil, chilli and coriander.

Konrad also makes fresh focaccia and other Italian breads every morning.

The emphasis is on Italian food but the menu is international to reflect his travels as a cook on a cruise ship.

He added: "Pizza is popular all over the world. When I was working on the cruises I’d go to Italy, Spain, Portugal, France and even Africa and the styles and the toppings may be different but everywhere you have pizza."
