THE former governor of Risley Prison has taken over the helm of HMP Walton.
Pia Sinha, who has also worked as the governor of Thorn Cross Prison, stepped up to the role on November 6 after the previous boss Peter Francis was ‘removed’ from his post following a snap inspection.
Ms Sinha started her career in the prison service in 1998 and has worked in establishments across the country.
Her first job was at HMP Holloway in London.
It is understood a new governor for HMP Risley will be announced in the coming weeks.
Interim measures remain in place at the prison off Warrington Road.
