COULD you help one of the many animals at RSPCA Warrington, Halton and St Helens Branch to have a merry Christmas?

Staff at the centre on Slutchers Lane are appealing for readers to help pets like Gizmo the cat (pictured) by filling up a stocking this festive season.

There are a number of ways you can get involved:

Pick up a free stocking in Bents Pet Place

The charity has teamed up with Bents Garden and Home so you can grab a stocking in store and fill it with goodies.

Find them in Bents Pet Place and fill it with goodies for cats and dogs.

Once you have paid for the items, hand the filled stocking to a Bents staff member and all gifts will be collected from Bents before Christmas ready for the animals to enjoy.

Donate via the Amazon Wish List to fill a stocking in the branch

A large stocking is in the branch ready to be filled with gifts.

Choose the items you wish to buy, add them to your basket and you can ship them straight to the branch.

Fill an office stocking

You can follow in the footsteps of the team at Boulting Group in Centre park.

Staff have left stockings under the tree in their canteen for employees to takeaway and fill with pet-friendly treats.

A group from Boulting will then visit the centre before Christmas to deliver their donations and see more about what the cause does and how their donations will benefit.

Fill a virtual stocking

Donation ideas and stories about the animals currently at the Warrington branch will be posted every day before Christmas on the charity's Facebook and Twitter pages.

A spokesman added: "Your donations could buy food for a cat with special dietary requirements as a result of being starved, training equipment to aid the rehabilitation of a dogs that has been beaten or pay for vital veterinary treatment to ensure our cats and dogs can go on to find new forever homes.

"Please donate to help animals in need this Christmas."
