TERRY Waite, patron of Warrington Male Voice Choir, will be in the audience for its Christmas Voices Christmas Brass concert next Saturday, December 16.

The concert takes place at Parr Hall at 7.30pm and as well as listening to the music he will be saying a few words and selling and signing copies of his books.

Three books – Solitude, Out of the Silence & Travels with a Primate – will be on sale during the interval (Paperbacks £10, Hardback £17; cash only or cheques), and Terry, whose mother lived in Lymm, will personally sign any books bought on the night, for as long as time allows.

Choir chairman, Bob Williams said: “Knowing how busy Terry’s diary is, we are delighted that he has managed to join us for what is always a fabulous festive night. He is always worth listening to and for him to provide the opportunity for the audience to buy a rather special Christmas present – a book written and signed by Terry – adds something extra to the evening."

The choir will also be selling a new CD on the night. ‘Christmas Voices Christmas Brass’ brings the choir and Leyland Band together on CD for the first time, with a recording that aims to capture some of the atmosphere from the very special evening of the same name.

And organisers are encouraging everyone to get in the mood and ‘dress for Christmas’ – especially if they want to stand out from what’s looking like a near sell out crowd!

Tickets at £10, £5 for under 16s, are available from 442345, by visiting pyramidparrhall.com, or in person from the Pyramid/Parr Hall ticket office.
