WARRINGTON UTC has been given the green light to create an outdoor space on a temporary car park next to the school on Dallam Lane.

The new playground will have space for 50 bikes, artificial grass for sports and a food van.

The college will develop the small car park neighbouring the UTC building on Dallam Lane but the pay and display opposite Warrington Central station will not be affected.

Architectural firm Ellis Williams, which designed the UTC, has been working with students in years 10 and 11 on plans for the new outdoor area.

Principal Lee Barber said: “This extension to UTC Warrington is an exciting addition to the recreational space we have available for our students.

“The outdoor space reaffirms our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our college community.”

“The designers have worked closely with our students to prepare a vibrant addition to UTC Warrington.

“It is important to us that our students shape the future of their college.”
