THERE is no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by helping a good cause like the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) near Lymm.

And the charity, which provides holidays for terminally ill and disadvantaged children, is inviting residents to join them at a festive fundraising ball.

The Las Vegas-themed event at The Mere will also be attended by some of CAFT’s patrons, who include comedians John Bishop, Jason Manford and John Thomson as well as former Slade frontman Noddy Holder and Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey.

Events fundraiser Pippa Watton, who is helping to organise the 20th annual ball which takes place on December 2, said: “This is by far our biggest event of the year, it’s really grown in popularity and we regularly see guests booking their tickets as early as January.

“It’s always great to welcome new guests however so we’d love you to join us and be part of this special occasion.”

The event regularly raises more than £100,000 for the charity’s life-changing work. Many families and children who visit the farm have never been on holiday before and for some, it may be a much-needed break from hospital appointments and medical treatment.

Guests at the grand ball will be welcomed to a cocktail reception which will feature entertainment from an Elvis tribute act.

Award-winning magician Stevie Mandini will be on hand to wow the crowd with impressive tricks and visitors will then sit down to a four-course feast.

Live music will begin after dinner with a performance by The Deadbeats before DJ Neil Bebbo takes over to keep the dancefloor busy until the early hours.

A spokesman for the charity has also promised plenty of surprises for guests throughout the evening. Entertainment will include raffles and auctions, with prizes including jewellery, exclusive tickets to events and a luxury spa getaway.

This year’s sponsors include Roberts Bakery and Titan Property Services and the charity is inviting other companies to come forward to support the event.

Tickets to the ball cost £75 and for more information call 01565 830 053.
