2. PUMPKIN FESTIVAL Kenyon Hall, Croft, until October 31

Visitors will be able to enter the pumpkin patch and pick anything that takes their fancy, with prices ranging from £2 to £20 depending on the size of the pumpkin chosen. There will also be a dedicated carving area

3. PUMPKIN PICKING AND CARVING WORKSHOP Grange Farm, Stone Cross Lane, Lowton, until October 31

Warrington Guardian:

Couple Andrew Burman and Leanne Lester, who run the farm, have been growing between 6,000 and 7,000 pumpkins since the end of May. You can now come on site and pick your own to buy.

Leanne will also be hosting daily pumpkin carving classes from Saturday until Halloween.

4. PICK YOUR OWN PUMPKINS AT THE HAYLOFT Sandy Lane Farm, Bold, until October 31

A ghost bride is inviting the public to be her guests at the spookiest wedding of the year.

Her maid of honour and a priest will take 'wedding guests' on Spooky Tours of the mill on October 27 and 28.

Ghosts, ghouls and other fiendish things will be brought to life on the spooky walks by the nrg theatre company and students from Staffordshire University.

HALLOWEEN LANTERN CARNIVAL Liverpool, October 29, 6pm to 7pm

Starting from the Pilgrim Street/Hardman St junction at 6pm, the spectacle will make its way, flapping, hopping and rattling through the city streets down towards the river, with the best vantage points being on Hardman Street, Bold Street, Church Street, Paradise Street, Thomas Steer Way, and Albert Dock

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FUN AT SOUTHPORT PLEASURELAND until October 29, from 11am

Throughout half-term the park will be decorated with pumpkins, bats and spiders. Visitors will encounter creepy characters welcoming them to Pleasureland’s rides and shows, with outdoor spooky theatre from ‘The Twitchy Witch’ and some Halloween wizardry from roaming magicians. 

THE ENCHANTMENT OF CHESTER ZOO until October 31

Families can expect to encounter everything from musical giraffes and stilt-walking moths to acrobatic sloths and orangutan characters. This cavalcade of friendly costumed performers will help visitors break the sorcerer’s spell and save the zoo from falling asleep forever. The attraction is free to all those buying a ticket to the zoo until October 31.
