IKEA Warrington was evacuated last night following a false alarm.
Shoppers were waiting for 20 minutes while health and safety checks were carried out at the store on the Gemini Retail Park yesterday, Thursday.
Mike Hawkins, Ikea Warrington’s store manager said: “The safety of our customers and co-workers is always of the highest priority for Ikea.
"We can confirm that the Ikea Warrington store was evacuated on Thursday, October 19, at 6.30pm as the fire alarm was triggered; this was a false alarm.
"All staff and customers were safely evacuated and were allowed to return to the store within 20 minutes, once all safety checks had been completed.
"We would like to thank our customers for their co-operation and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
