A CHARITY has made a 10-year-old girl from Padgate its youngest ambassador.

Erin Eaves has been made an ambassador for Reverse Rett after raising thousands of pounds for the charity.

The 10-year-old has been working to help the charity for the past two years, inspired by her favourite rugby league player Gareth O’Brien – with the former Warrington Wolves half also an ambassador for the charity.

Her efforts have included charity runs, cycles and bag packs.

Reverse Rett co-founder and fundraising manager Andy Stevenson visited her school on Monday, October 16, to give a talk to pupils about the charity.

Broomfields Junior School in Appleton made Reverse Rett its Charity of the Year after being nominated by Erin.

Andy said: “Erin has done a lot of fundraising for us over the past two years and we decided to make her an ambassador for the charity alongside her favourite rugby league player, Gareth O’Brien.”

The charity funds research into Rett syndrome, a neurological disorder that can leave sufferers unable to speak or walk.
