WARRINGTON South MP Faisal Rashid has welcomed news that a new Post Office will be opening in Lymm next month.

The village’s former Post Office suddenly closed its doors at The Cross last November.

But the company has announced a new site will be opening at The Cross, two doors away from the previous branch, next month.

Mr Rashid said: "I am delighted to hear that Lymm residents will finally have a new Post Office in the village. This is great news.

"I know from the many conversations I have had with residents and businesses in Lymm that the lack of a Post Office or bank has been a major concern.

"The loss of the Post Office and bank has been a real barrier for people trying to access the services, particularly for older people unable to drive.

"I was committed to resolving this issue and I am really pleased to hear that I have helped to deliver these vital service for Lymm in only my first four months as the MP.

"The new facility is set to open in November and in the coming weeks I will be working with the Post Office to ensure that the services on offer are tailor-made and meet the needs of residents and businesses.

“I have been assured that the banking services will be accessible as per Post Office provision.

"As the MP for Warrington South I will continue to work hard on behalf of all residents in every part of the constituency I represent."
