MATTY Russell is the latest Wolves player to be heading to the Rugby League World Cup after he was named in the Scotland squad.

The winger, who has eight Scotland caps, is in Steve McCormack’s 24-man travelling party for the tournament in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Russell, who was born in Ayrshire, is likely to play a key role for the Bravehearts, who face Tonga in Cairns in their opening game on October 29.

They then move on to Christchurch to face New Zealand on November 4 before returning to Cairns to take on Samoa on November 11.
