EMERGENCY services were called to Latchford Locks this evening following a call from a man in distress.
Officers from Cheshire Police and crews from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene at 7.30pm today, Monday.
A spokesman for Cheshire Constabulary said: "At 7.30pm officers responded to a call from a distressed person who had climbed up the disused railway bridge at Latchford Locks.
"Force control centre staff continued to communicate with the male while police and fire officers made attempts to reach him.
"At 8.50pm the male was safely secured. He is receiving support."
The area was cordoned off while officers dealt with the incident.
