WARRINGTON Wolves fans will have the chance to vote for their all-time favourite Wire team, before permanent tributes are created for these legends around the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Supporters will be able to vote to create the Legends XIII, who will then be profiled on special displays installed at the stadium’s exits.

Each week the club will nominate three candidates for each position in the legends squad, which will then be put to a public vote on its Twitter page.

Fans will also decide who the greatest Wire coach of all time is as part of the project, held in conjunction with Selco Builders Warehouse on Milner Street.

Voting will begin on Monday, October 9.

Alex Wilson, business development manager at Warrington Wolves, said: “This is an exciting initiative and one we are sure will capture the imagination of all Warrington Wolves fans.

“The players we put up for the vote will go back through the eras.

“I’m sure all our supporters will have their own ideas of who should feature in the team and there will be plenty of debates at a time when there is a break in the domestic rugby league calendar.

“The vote ensures those selected will have a permanent place on display at the ground and in the history of Warrington Wolves.”
