STAFF at the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust are preparing for one of their busiest events of the year as they open the doors for an annual fun day this weekend.

All families are welcome to visit the site for the free event on Sunday from 1pm until 5pm and find out more about the charity’s important work.

And it promises to be an enjoyable day with live music, fairground rides, dance performances, classic cars and tractors.

The charity’s president is Sir Bobby Charlton and patrons include comedians John Bishop and Jason Manford as well as former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff, so visitors can expect a few surprise guests on the day.

The team promises people will be well fed with refreshments including a hog roast, barbecue, vegan dishes, tea room and bar.

Mascots in full costume will also take to the start line for a race and there will also be a helicopter display.

The Reddy Lane farm needs to raise at least £1 million from donations each year so it can continue offering life-changing holidays to sick and disabled children and their families.

Families of all ages are welcome to attend the event, which is wheelchair accessible, and parking will be available.

Around 1,000 people are expected at the popular open day and for more information call 01565 830 053, or just turn up on the day to help support the charity.
