KING’S school head teacher is rightly pleased with the school’s GCSE results.

But I find his claim to be on a par with Eton galling to say the least (Warrington Guardian, September 7).

We know what Eton costs but have little idea how much taxpayers’ money his free school was given.

Our money by the way.

I’m sure many heads in Warrington face greater challenges but achieve just as much in different ways with less.

His arrogant claim about ethos belittles the efforts of other schools whose values and ethos are equal to if not better than his own.

I’ve no wish to denigrate the students but do wish there was equality of funding for all schools.
