TODAY I spent 20 minutes in bumper to bumper traffic to travel 1.5 miles to join the M6 at junction 20 Thelwall.

Traffic was queueing from the Springbook lights to junction 20.

The queue was increased by traffic travelling from Appleton Thorn along Cann Lane.

This included many HGVs from Stobarts and other HGVs coming off the industrial estate.

If this is the present day chronic congestion we are experiencing what will it be like if Warrington Borough Council gets its way to build 800 more houses at Appleton Thorn and Grappenhall Heys.

Cann Lane is the primary route to the motorway.

If every household had at least one car that would mean 800 more cars on the road at peak time.

That would double the time it took me today to 40 minutes to travel 1.5 miles Do we deserve this? Enough is enough. Say no to this development GARY BEBBINGTON Grappenhall
