THE team behind Home-Start Warrington (HSW) has issued a heartfelt thank you as donations continue roll in.

The charity, which helps struggling families to cope, has received a £200 cash boost from the One Stop convenience store on Howson Road following a raffle set up by manager Stephen Sloane and with the help of Gail Gibbs, a HSW volunteer.

Elaine Wills, who received support from the charity a few years ago, has also donated £1,000 to the cause.

After being involved in an accident and with a new baby to care for, Elaine was referred to HSW and vowed to give back to the charity as soon as she possibly could.

Donating to the charity is not the only way you can help, HSW also rely on the help of their volunteers.

They are currently recruiting for the next volunteer preparation course which commences in January.

Volunteers must be parents who can spare three hours on one day a week visiting a family’s home to offer tailor-made support.

The course will run for 10 weeks from 9.30am until 2.30pm every Wednesday, excluding school breaks.

It will equip volunteers with the necessary advice and information they require to help another family.

If you are interested in taking part in the course or would like to find out more information, call HSW on 652320 or 576100.
