MOTORISTS have been warned to expect delays following a car fire on the M62 this afternoon.
One lane was closed on the M62 eastbound between junction 11 at Birchwood and junction 12 at the Eccles Interchange.
The car was moved on to the hard shoulder after emergency services were called to the scene at 2.10pm.
One lane closed is also closed on M62 westbound at junction seven at Rainhill Stoops.
Firefighters also tackled a fire on a heavy goods vehicle on Old Chester Road near to the Walton Arms pub.
Crews discovered that the HGV's brakes were on fire at around 2.10pm.
