A MAN has been charged with a terrorism offence after two properties were raided in Warrington by officers.
Rabar Mala, 32, of Gough Avenue, has been charged with possession of property for purposes of terrorism under Section 16 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Friday.
Armed police stormed two properties in Warrington in a counter-terrorism operation earlier this month following an investigation by the North West Counter Terrorism Unit.
Two men were arrested after homes on Gough Avenue in Longford and Watkin Street in Orford were raided by investigating officers.
Police have confirmed no further action will be taken against the 30-year-old who was also arrested during the raids on August 20.
Detectives spent days searching the properties which are located a mile apart in the north of the town.
Police have confirmed the warrants formed part of an ongoing counter-terrorism probe and are not connected to the investigation into the Manchester Arena attack in May.
